Donation Boxes
Raised by a diabetic father and bedridden elder sister grew a bold boy, Johnson Duke. He was well endowed, with a broad chest, American height, and a heart of steel everyone would like to associate to. Seeing the kind of torture and pain these diseases has caused his family, he vowed to do all in his capability to help others not to go through that hell. So he started a campaign, created awareness of the diseases, and introduced donation boxes to help collect money, food, clothing, and other valuables to help the diabetic people around his residence. The initiative was very dear to his heart because he understood the challenges associated with terminal illnesses. Apart from the expensive medical treatments, the lifestyle and food needed to be consumed can be costly. Johnson was very passionate about the project, and after losing his father to diabetes, he felt the need to save those suffering the disease and create awareness. Since he was a college student, he thought there would be more referrals and donations by beginning his school. Apart from the contributions, many people may participate, fund the drive, and help individuals fight this menace.
Global changes lead to many people having new strategies to deal with issues. The humanitarian crisis, health challenges, and social issues are some of the most prevailing problems that have been reported in different areas. In institutions, various groups have been created to allow the discussion and support of individuals that undergo such challenges. The support groups will create a community filled with safety and love, making the individuals aware that they may not be alone. There has been a bin placed in the hallway in school to help people suffering from diabetes. A young man is running the initiative, and his main aim is to help individuals suffering from diabetes in Canada.
Inspired by the resilience of the diabetes patients, the young man began to support and charity for the diabetes patients to give them hope and affirmation that nothing is permanent. Diabetes is a lifelong disease that affects almost any individual. A child can be born with diabetes if there is a genetic inheritance of this particular disease. It can also be acquired through people’s lifestyles, making them susceptible to getting it. The cost of treatment of diabetes is shockingly high because the patients require daily medicine, which may be expensive for people who are not working or have low wages, or lack insurance for their health. The high cost of living also challenges access to other facilities; therefore, this initiative makes it easy for people with diabetes to get medical check-ups and treatments like their medicines. The project is a good initiative and an example to society that anything is achievable if people work together and in unison, they can achieve anything. The young man is merely a student; however, the humanistic character allows him to be a role model to everyone in society. He enlightens the community about the issues around and can be addressed only if anyone decides to donate even a dollar to help those in need. His actions are more of a wake-up call for people to evaluate the prevailing challenges that are currently ongoing and find strategies on how to resolve them, even if it is for a small group.
Social and emotional support of individuals facing different challenges is one of the most salient things people can do. Offering emotional support allows the psychological and mental stability of the patient or group to be replenished and have hope that there are good people in the society. The drive began by the man was only a stepping stone for individuals to wake up and join him in the campaign. Additionally, such altruistic characters always benefit from helping others; this is charitable and life-nourishing. The rise in social issues in the communities will always be present, and assisting those who need the help is a blessing to both parties. After seeing the man’s capability, strategizing for the charity events, support groups, and donations are pivotal in the society.
